We are standing at a massive crossroads in the global economy. As Artificial Intelligence rapidly automates routine clerical and administrative jobs, it is becoming incredibly clear why the 2030 workforce relies on human connection. While AI can process data at lightning speed, there is one critical thing it cannot do: Care.
Because of this, the demand for service-based industries - particularly healthcare and aged care - is growing exponentially. We are facing a looming talent shortage, often called the "Silver Tsunami". So how do we inspire a younger, highly digital generation to pursue careers in a deeply human sector? How do we teach empathy? You cannot learn empathy from a multiple-choice test. You have to experience it.
Unimora: Building Empathy and Attraction for the Future of Care
Mindflight7 is incredibly proud to announce Unimora, the flagship VR experience in our new Softskills for the Future program. Developed entirely from the ground up by our brilliant in-house development team and recognized by the Unity For Humanity Grant, Unimora uses immersive technology not to escape reality, but to connect us more deeply to it.
Stepping Into Another Body
In the classroom, students don't just watch a video about aging. They put on a VR headset and literally step into the body of Joyce, an elderly woman.
Through this physical embodiment, students experience the daily realities of Joyce's life. They look through her failing eyes to understand the physical struggles of her vision impairment. Through environmental storytelling and heartbeat haptic feedback, students literally feel her pulse when she holds cherished items, connecting with the deep emotional resonance of her memories. Then, the perspective shifts. Students step into the shoes of Joyce’s caregiver, experiencing firsthand the profound fulfilment and joy that comes from supporting another human being.
Future-Proofing Our Students
We need to stop treating aged care as a fallback option and start treating it as the critical, highly skilled profession it is. Unimora transforms classroom learning by removing the stigma and fear associated with aging, replacing it with understanding and inspiration.
By building these vital soft skills today, we are giving our students the ultimate career passport for tomorrow.
Coming Soon to Your Classroom
Unimora will be available to XR Lab customers and officially join our Soft Skills for the Future incursion lineup in late September / early October.
