At Mindflight7, we believe that we are the human link between learners and technology. We know that while immersive tools can open new frontiers, it is the passionate educators guiding those tools who truly unlock student potential.

That is why we were incredibly proud to be the official Summit Social & Teacher Awards Sponsor at the 2026 National Education Summit in Brisbane last week. It was a distinct honour to take the stage and recognise two remarkable educators for their profound impact on teaching and school leadership.

Mrs Andra Janse Van Rensburg, a Teacher at OneSchool Global Maitland (NSW), took out the Innovation in Teaching Award, while Ms Erin Caceda, Principal of Allegra School in Coffs Harbour (NSW), received the Outstanding Leadership Award.

Innovation in Teaching: Empowering Students to Take Charge

Mrs Rensburg was recognised for her incredible ability to move beyond traditional textbook theory, proving that when students are engaged, the results speak for themselves. In fact, eight of her students recently ranked First in Course for the NSW HSC in Financial Services!

Speaking to Education Matters Magazine following her win, Mrs Rensburg noted that her secret was simple: making learning fun and empowering students to take ownership of their journey.

"I am so grateful to receive this award and I would also like to thank OneSchool Global for providing the learning environment in which educators are supported to be innovative and creative,” she told the publication.

Outstanding Leadership: Fostering Collaborative Cultures

In the leadership category, Ms Caceda was celebrated for her immense contribution to student success and staff development. True leadership in education isn't about managing timetables—it’s about inspiring people, and Erin has built a school culture that restores confidence and ensures every student feels they belong.

As her team at Allegra School perfectly summarised online: “Her care and dedication towards the students at Allegra is evident every single day through her approachable nature and open-door policy."
