A Day of Creativity and Learning: Mindflight7 at Korumburra Secondary College

Our team from Mindflight7 had an extraordinary day this week at Korumburra Secondary College in the South Gippsland Shire Council. The event was a culmination of meticulous planning and collaboration, bringing together ICT students from Korumburra SC and Foster Secondary College for a day-long 360° video film shoot. The focus of the project was to create short films highlighting the dangers of driver distraction and the severe consequences it can entail.

A Journey in 360° Video and VR Content Creation

Over the past several weeks, these dedicated students have immersed themselves in learning about 360° video technology and content creation for Virtual Reality (VR). They explored scriptwriting and scene creation specifically for VR, all while understanding the critical dangers of driver distraction. When the day arrived to shoot their films, their hard work and dedication shone brightly.

Each student took on various roles with enthusiasm and professionalism. Whether acting, directing, operating cameras, or managing sound, they all threw themselves into their tasks. It was truly remarkable to witness their commitment and creativity in action.

A Collaborative Effort

Our fantastic crew from Mindflight7, along with David Ellison (teacher from Korumburra SC), Callum Sherriff (teacher from Foster SC), and John Ernst (from the South Gippsland Shire), facilitated the day and ensured everything ran smoothly. However, the true stars of the day were the students. Their dedication, creativity, and enthusiasm were inspiring and showcased the incredible potential of integrating technology and education.

Raising Awareness and Hands-On Learning

This project not only provided valuable hands-on experience in 360° video production and VR content creation but also raised awareness about a critical issue—driver distraction. This is especially pertinent for teens living in rural Australia, where the risks can be even greater.

We are immensely proud to have been part of this collaborative effort. The hard work and commitment of the students were truly commendable, and we are excited to see the positive impact of their efforts and the final results of this shoot.

A Heartfelt Thank You

A huge thank you to everyone involved, especially the students, for their dedication and hard work. We look forward to seeing the fruits of their labor and the lasting impact it will have on raising awareness about driver safety.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to explore the intersection of technology, education, and real-world issues.
